Jeffrey Gren is an international industry specialist with substantial experience leading global medical device and pharmaceutical trade promotion, regulatory harmonization and convergence activities. For over 25 years Jeff led global activities to promote medical devices and pharmaceutical regulatory harmonization training programs as well as activities to combat the spread of counterfeit medical products. Jeff also has expertise in health IT, information & communication technology industries and global procurement. Jeff has been President of Gren International Health & Trade Consulting, LLC, since 2014 and has performed consulting services for numerous industry and government clients. Jeff retired from a distinguished career of over 30 years at U.S. Department of Commerce in 2014. While at DOC Jeff directed several industry offices, including the Office of Health and Information Technologies. As a DOC Office Director Jeff led many trade and policy missions. Jeff has also represented the U.S. Department of Commerce in APEC and ASEAN activities related to medical product regulatory harmonization and combating counterfeit/falsified medical products. Jeff established and led the China - U.S. JCCT Medical Devices and Pharmaceuticals Subgroup (1996 - 2014) included planning and organizing numerous medical device and pharmaceutical training programs for China National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).

Jeff has also served the industry expert for six USTDA Reverse Trade Missions (RTMs): a) China pharmaceuticals, b) China medical devices, c) China pharmaceuticals, d) Turkey health innovation, e) Keyna & South Africa health innovation, and f) Nigeria & Senegal health innovation). As an Alliance for Safe Online Pharmacies (ASOP Global) Board Member, Jeff led ASOP Global delegations to China, India, Mexico, and Brazil. Jeff has extensive experience and expertise running and developing government and private sector training programs. For example, Jeff developed, coordinated and was an expert speaker for a series of APEC medical device regulatory training sessions. As a consultant for the Alliance for Safe On-line Pharmacies (ASOP Global) Jeff developed and served as an expert speaker for a China training program on effective technics to combat counterfeit medicines. Jeff has also been an expert speaker during training programs that took place during past USTDA RTMs. Jeff also led and was an expert speaker for several APEC training programs in implementing the APEC medical products supply chain roadmap and toolkits.

Jeff has been a member of the APEC Harmonization Center Advisory Committee since 2011. The APEC Harmonization Center was established in June 2009 under the Korea National Institute of Food and Drug Safety Evaluation to facilitate regulatory harmonization among APEC Member Economies based on close cooperation with regulatory authorities (RAs), international organizations, industry and other stakeholders. Jeff has been a frequent expert speaker at international conferences and he received Master of Arts in Economics and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University in Boston. Jeff has received numerous U.S. Department of Commerce, industry association and international organization medals and awards.
