I recently returned from Frankfurt where I attended IMEX 2019. IMEX Frankfurt is a perfect platform to make new -- and renew -- connections, keep pace with fast-changing event technology, connect with suppliers, and explore the latest trends. Large conferences like IMEX tend to have a reputation for wasting all kinds of food, energy, and materials. This year, I was impressed with IMEX’s efforts to promote best practices in sustainability throughout the conference and to the attendees.
IMEX promotes that the Frankfurt show was 100% hydro-powered and through their donation program, plus the responsible recycling systems at Messe Frankfurt, they sent ZERO waste to landfill.
They encouraged all attendees to offset their carbon footprint by choosing nearby hotels within walking distance of the conference facility, Messe Frankfurt, providing shuttle buses and also encouraged attendees to use reusable water bottles.
IMEX Group’s CEO, Carina Bauer, and her team encouraged all exhibitors to make a sustainable exhibiting pledge.

At The Webster Group, we are working with our clients on ways to be sustainable through our interaction with venues, caterers, vendors, attendees and sponsors. However, attending this conference, made me want to do more, work harder to educate our staff and clients on how to make a difference. Challenge Accepted! We are all connected! Thank you IMEX!
